
While reading through William Lane Craig’s Systematic Philosophical Theology, volume 1, I came across the following dismissal of Norman Geisler’s often used and quoted argument for biblical inerrancy. Craig writes,
Geisler offers this simple version of the argument:
God cannot err.
The Bible is the word of God.
Therefore, the Bible cannot err.
The argument is invalid as stated, and any attempt to explicate it further will inevitably be simplistic, for inerrantists recognize that truthfulness attends only to what God teaches or asserts, . . .
